Message to the Freedom Lodge Community

Beloved brothers and sisters,

After a month-long hiatus and retreat, I return home with a sober mind, a humbled heart, and pages upon pages of journal reflections. That time away gave me the space to weigh my values with honesty and to gain deeper clarity about my purpose—and about the Great Work of the Freedom Lodge.

From the beginning, our mission has been simple and profound: to serve as a sanctuary for our community to foster authentic connections and cultivate meaningful experiences together. I have curated our gatherings with that vision in mind. Yet in the quiet of retreat—stripped of distraction, releasing the bondage of vices, and putting my ego in its proper place—I encountered a deeper truth about True Freedom.

For me, True Freedom can never be realized while indulging the appetites of the ego. That path is not liberty but captivity. True freedom is realized when I conquer myself: when I overcome vice, embrace the will of God, and embody virtue with integrity. Only then—walking the straight and narrow path, bearing my cross, and keeping my head lifted—do I taste the True Freedom I was made for.

That is what I desire this Freedom Lodge to support: True Freedom. And today, at the turning of the season—the Fall Equinox—I declare a turning of our culture: the Fall of Vice and the RISE of Virtue.

Our Lodge will be a community where true freedom and triumph are practiced through virtuous living. Virtue is the core of freedom. We will train ourselves in Purity, Generosity, Patience, Kindness, Discipline, Diligence, and Humility. And we will courageously identify and overcome the vices that hold us back from our God-given potential—Lust, Greed, Wrath, Gluttony/Addiction, Pride, Sloth and Envy.

This season will center on holistic, virtuous embodiment and personal development—physical, emotional, mental, psychological, social, and spiritual. All our content, events, production, and community engagement will reflect this commitment. Expect gatherings and practices that call us higher; expect conversations and accountability that refine us; expect a culture that prioritizes the inward victory over ego and appetite.

The time has come to sacrifice the ego and its cravings, and to embody the potential God has placed within us. No other way leads to true fulfillment—no other way leads to true freedom.

I will share more in due time. I am still integrating my experience, spending lots of time with family, and getting the Lodge in order for the season ahead. I’m here at the Lodge working on exciting projects and staying busy. If what I’ve shared resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. My schedule is open for calls and visits, and you are welcome—truly welcome—to join me here at the Lodge.

It’s onward and upward from here. RISE with us.

In freedom and virtue,

Brodysseus G.
